[Currently disabled - sorry] This page gives you an opportuniy to read our story of Mia's struggle with Breast Cancer. Honestly, this page is roughly developed and will improve as I have opportunity, but many have said they found what is there to be inspiring.
Wikipedia (the free encyclopedia) provides an excellent article on many aspects of Breast Cancer. Sections currently include Epidemiology, Etiology, Screening, Diagnosis, Treatment, Prognosis, Breast Cancer Awareness, See Also, and External Links. Continually updated.
This is a massive collection of Breast Cancer infromation and resource links. This is not your typical resource collection. I don't think anything quite like it exists elsewhere. A great starting point, but also a great place to go when you need to find specific types of resources. Well organized!
This is a very active community that connects the newly diagnosed with each other and with those who have been there and come out all the better! If you are interested in getting to know others who understand or wish to share your wisdom, this is the place to be! Make sure and say Hi to MiaB!! (Healing Well also hosts forums for other diseases, so if you know someone who may need such a resource for other issues they are facing, you may want to poke around and see if there is anything for them here too!)!
From Melissa Buhmeyer, the website's founder: "For those of you just beginning this rollercoaster journey, know that there is hope and life after cancer. For those of you who have been around a while, don't you just wish this website had been available at your diagnosis? If this website helps in making your decisions easier, then we've accomplished our goal."
Offers resources for counseling and support groups, a chance to talk to experts, info on workshops, fact sheets, articles, access to financial assistance, and medical information!
A decision support tool to help you to understand your treatment options. It also provides you with questions to ask your doctor, and personalized reports.!
Interactive Breast Cancer education resource from the Patient Education Institute. Using animated graphics (Requires Flash), it explains Breast Cancer in easy-to-read language. Topics included are Cancer & Its Causes; Breast Anatomy; Breast Cancer; Signs & Symptoms; Diagnosis; Staging; Surgery; and Treatment Options.!
Many reference articles on Breast Cancer. Topic headings include Overview, Who Is At Risk, Lifestyle, The Healthy Breast, How Cancer Begins, Metastasis, Ductal Carcinoma, Lobular Carcinoma, Symptoms, Screening Tests, Diagnostic Tests, Grading the Tumor, Staging Of Breast Cancer, Questions To Ask Your Doctor, Local Treatment, Breast Reconstruction, Systemic Treatment, When Cancer Recurs, and a Glossary. At the end is a link to a nice starter bibliography.
